Puerto Rico’s new frontier, the Porta del Sol west coast region is renowned for great surfing, fishing, scuba diving, sailing, horseback riding, bicycle trails, beautiful beaches, breathtaking sunsets, fabulous whale watching, access to golf courses, cultural tourism, agro-tourism and ecotourism. The beach area starts east of Isabela and continues around the coastline to Añasco. Farther on is the great port city of Mayagüez with its first-rate zoo, historic theater and beautiful plaza. Even farther down the coast you pick up more beaches, excellent seafood and some outstanding coastal forests.
